May Flowers
As we step into May, we are welcomed by a season of blossoming — both around us and within us.
While the phrase "April showers bring May flowers" may ring true up north, here in Florida, that seasonal shift may not be as vivid. Yet, nature still stirs with magic. Energy is rising. Life is blooming. And the Earth reminds us that this, too, is our time to bloom.
This same vibrant life force lives within us!
May invites us to pause and reflect:
🌸 What is beginning to stir and blossom in my heart?
🌸 What dreams, colors, and longings are ready to be seen, nurtured, and expressed?
This May, I invite you to honor your own blossoming, just as I’m honoring mine.
Together, let’s notice what feels fresh and new within us.
Let’s celebrate the small sprouts of change and growth, speak to ourselves with kindness, and trust that everything is unfolding in its own divine timing.
Our inner world mirrors nature's rhythms. After seasons of planting, watering, and quietly tending, there always comes a time to unfold; to stretch toward the light, to be seen, to bloom.
The Power of Speaking Life into Yourself
Recently, while listening to Dr. Andrew Huberman, neuroscientist and professor at Stanford University School of Medicine, a new seed was planted in my heart around the incredible power of how we speak to ourselves. He recommends talking to yourself in the second person — saying things like:
“You are strong," "You are growing beautifully," "You can trust yourself,” “You got this,” “You are enough,” “You are doing better than you think.”
Huberman explains that we are always shaping our brain — either programming it for expansion and success, or reinforcing more of the same. Our self-talk is either lifting us higher or quietly holding us back.
My practice has always centered around the power of “I am” which are very powerful and grounding. But this second-person twist feels like speaking to the wisest part of me. “You are safe. You are growing. You are doing beautifully.” It’s like being guided and coached by my own soul.
Speak to yourself like someone you love
Words carry power
Your mind is listening
Your body is responding
Your dreams are expanding.
The human mind is conditioned, repetitive, and deeply programmed. This is why so many people continue to create the same life circumstances — thinking the same thoughts, feeling the same emotions, and attracting the same experiences.
But here’s the incredible part, your brain is adaptable! This is the magic of neuroplasticity, something I’m deeply fascinated by and excited to learn more about. The idea that we can reshape our minds, rewire old patterns, and create new pathways just by choosing more empowering thoughts is incredible. Wow!
Every empowering statement you whisper to yourself is not just a nice affirmation it's an electrical signal firing in your brain, creating new neural pathways. You’re not just thinking differently; you’re becoming someone new.
This simple shift into second-person self-talk can significantly rewire your brain for resilience, confidence, and growth. It lights up areas of the brain connected to motivation and encouragement — like becoming your own coach, your own soul whisperer.
May We Speak to Ourselves with Love
This month, let’s commit to being the voice of love, support, and encouragement within ourselves. Let’s water our dreams with kindness, trust, and belief.
Here are a few seeds you can plant through your inner dialogue:
🌸 You are blossoming beautifully.
🌸 You are powerful.
🌸 You are ready to step into the light.
🌸 You are radiant.
🌸 You are enough.
🌸 You are becoming everything you were always meant to be.
A Gentle Invitation
May this month be a celebration of your inner blooming.
I’d love to see you in class, at a workshop, event or simply hear what’s blossoming in your life.
Let’s practice together - breath by breath, word by word - speaking life into ourselves, strengthening our minds, and softening our hearts.
